What can cause 2005 Ford Escape interior lights to come on and door ajar light to come on while driving?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Interior lights will come on and sometimes flicker while driving and the door
ajar light will light. Sometimes while parked, the interior light comes with no
door ajar light. I've tried spraying lubricant in each door latch. Thanks

I will try WD-40 tomorrow and post the results. Thanks!

I used WD-40 on all five latches and the problem still exists. While driving, the door ajar alarm and lights come on and off. It is very annoying. Then when the car is parked, the lights will just come on by themselves without the door ajar indicator. I have to go in, turn the key on and off and shut the door. Then the lights go off. I bought an ODBLink cable to run a computerized scan but I don't have the right module. I am working with Forscan to try and troubleshoot this.

It turns out the cable I bought works but the software does not include wiring, door ajar, interior light issues. So i'm back to square one. Would anyone know what would cause the interior lights to come on by themselves while the car is off? Hours can pass and all of a sudden, lights are on. Is there a relay or switch that is likely to fail? I do not see the door ajar light on when this happens, just the interior lights are on. Thanks...
