2009 Honda Civic EX only blowing ac out of floor vents
Asked by blane225 Oct 21, 2016 at 02:15 PM about the 2009 Honda Civic EX
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I just bought a used 2009 Honda Civic EX about 2 weeks ago. Today when
I went to put the Max AC button on I noticed the air was only coming out of
the vents in the floor. The air is cold and when I switch the setting over to
blow out of the floor vents and back to Max AC where the cold air should
be coming through the top vents only... it still does not switch over. Any
advice would be appreciated.

Being an.09 I'd guess it's an actuator issue in dash . Have honda check it for you .
Where is that located , and how much does it cost for the part , is it easy to replace
Did you get this resolved? What was the issue? I have the Sam problem.

It’s a part inside your panel that is supposed to move to change the air flow & isn’t moving. I have the same issue & haven’t been able to figure out why the air flow part won’t move. It’s stuck, when my mechanic moves it a little bit then it rotates like it is supposed to in order to change the flow. We changed the MAIN MODE HVAC HEAT BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR & that didn’t fix the issue. Here’s a pic of the part we changed. I got it off Ebay for less than $50 so saved myself $30 but that isn’t the issue. Still searching....
