Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The year 2009 CR-V EX-L, was the following a Option, or Standard feature, for the
warning buzzer, when lights are left on and or key is left in ignition. I purchased a
used 2009 Honda CR-V EX-L, this year ( Aug 2014). recently we noticed there was no
warning, of the above mentioned, when contacting Honda dealer, they said it do not
have that feature, it has, leather heated seats, heated side view mirrors, fog lights. Are
they being truthful ?. Thank You

Personally I think not. About being truthful that is. That feature is on every car since, oh, say, 1990 or before, to warn of lights on and/or key in ignition. http://www.edmunds.com/honda/cr-v/2009/features-specs.html?style=101077178 ..has Options vs. Standard equipment/features but it's not listed, nor did I expect it to be It's such a common, standard, EXPECTED I dare say thing. The only thing is it can probably be manipulated to not chime somehow. But to say it's not available? No Way.
Footnote: I was very very disappointed recently car-shopping, and discovered the salesperson knew far less than I do about the car I was interested in. Every once in a while I get a bug in my craw for a new Camry. I told her I want a V6, and she replied, "No, you want the 4"-- First mistake. Salespeople don't tell ME what I want, I tell them. End of story I am keeping my Corolla until the wheels fall off. It's paid for.
