What is the maximum tire size I can run on my 2009 4X4 Dodge Ram 1500 without damaging my transmission?

I was told that if I run a 35 inch tire on my 4 wheel drive 2009 Dodge 1500 it would tear up the transmission. Is this true? What is the maximum tire size I can safely run on this truck?

Those tires won't tear up the transmission but they probably would rub and tear up your fenders without a lift.

I have 20" rim with 35" rubber. Just needed to heat inside of fenders push plastic back 3" where it rubs ......no damage to fenders ,tranny or otherwise
