How to fix the air not blowing out?

It could be your blower motor. Thats a fairly simple fix. Turn you ait on after 2 minutes check your compressor and touch and see if the metal lines that look like pipes are cold and have light water if so the nthe compressor is charging (most expensive component for the a.c.).

The a/c unit kicks on, just there is no air blowing out. Its not blowing out of the any vents. The front, dash or floor.

The blower motor is what blows the air out to the vents. Therefore is could be that or a unit that supplies power to the blower motor. Once they inspect it they can tell which one is lacking power.

The blower motor resistor may be the blame i have to replace mine cause i only have heat on 3 and 4 but not 1,2 and 5

Wondering if you ever figured out what;s wrong with your car? My ac/heater switches to "on"- you can hear it clicking but does not blow ANY air at all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It hasn't worked for about two days now. Hoping it's a cheap fix but at work so I can't get to my mechanic right now.

So, I have exactly same problem and accidentally I discovered that it happens because inside on the right side of the car, exactly where the front passenger puts his feet, there are some cables probably responsible for AC's electricity. That switchers or cables can be reason of bad contacts. So sometimes AC switches and sometimes not. It needs to be fixed or changed.

So, i think i did something stupid now, I noticed that WIRE HARNESS had problem it was half burned, so i pulled it out and after this Engine of the Car started strange intermittent. Is the any connection with the electricity and car engine?

My 2008 Spectra did same thing discovered when I hit a pot hole it would start up again. I also discovered if I hit the dash on passenger side it would start. That worked for awhile now won't work at all.

Seeing this post is old, hopefully your problem is fixed. I have an 09 Kia Rio LX and was having the same problem: I could hear the compressor click on, but nothing was coming out of the vents, not heat nor air. Done a little researching and poking around the car and it was my blower. Here is what I done: - push passenger seat all the way back, out of the way - open the (pass side) glove compartment about 1/4 way - pull it up/slightly toward rear of the car, strongly but carefully. The idea is to release plastic hinges. You might want to apply more tug to one side then the next, wiggle it a bit. But the compartment should come out rather easily. - the black air duct will reveal itself in the area behind glove compartment. Things of interest: "blower resistor" - bright orange part on top of the duct. It is partially submerged into the path of air - which cools it. The resistor is what controls the speed of the fan. In my Kia the resistor is not really a resistor but a power transistor assy. A time might come when you need to replace it. Piece of cake now that you know where it is . Note that resistors are different depending on year/make - but also depending on auto vs manual AC controls, be aware of that. Now onto the blower/fan assy. It is inserted into the duct from underneath. - Unscrew 2 (10mm socket) bolts that hold a strip of galvanized steel in front of the duct. - there a small harness with 2 connector on it, still blocking the way. It is held in place with a single screw. Remove it. - Now (be careful not to twist your neck/back) look under the duct. You will see a round plastic shape, may be 6-7" in diameter, with 3 screws in a bolt pattern (in a circle, equidistant). Remove them and the blower will literally fall into your hands. Now it is time to inspect the assy. You might have the fan that is badly damaged due to a foreign object getting into the air duct. Depending on extent of damage (fins/vanes missing, broken etc), you might get slight to very strong vibrations when fan spins . If that's the case, try to do your best to balance the fan: if a (part of) vanes is missing, you can try attaching a piece of alum duct tape to compensate for the weight that is gone or snip equivalent piece of a vane on the opposing side. Fan could have been jammed by the same foreign object. Motor might be fried. To test, make sure fan control is OFF. Turn car on. Hold the fan with your right hand, so that your fingers are NOT IN THE PATH of vanes, and with your left hand, move fan control to POS #1. Fan should spin. If it doesn't, it could be : a) fuse b) motor c) blower resistor. Move fan control to POS #4. If the motor spins now, it is likely that blower resistor is fried (it is bypassed in POS #4). If the motor doesn't spin and fuse is fine, it is likely the motor. To make sure, you can detach the blower and attempt to feed some voltage to it - use 9V battery, a smallish DC power supply (less than 12V DC). I don't have wiring handy - but if you attach the external voltage in a wrong way, the motor will simply spin in wrong direction. Watch your fingers. If it spins, the motor is fine and it is power resistor. Now about the pluses of this unfortunate situation: - unlike many other cars, it is a piece of cake, with Kia Sorento, to get to the blower assy and blower resistor - unlike many other cars, both the blower assy and blower resistor are reasonably priced. Expect to pay around $70 delivered for blower assy and may be $50 for the blower resistor. - unlike many other cars, there's plenty of space in the passenger foot well

Tony_2015, thank you for your post. My daughter has a 2007 Kia Rio. The AC blower has been going in and out and finally quit. We took it to Kia dealership before it totally went out paid over 1200 dollars. The AC worked for about six months then totally went out. Read your post to this blog and went out and checked the lines. Both were cold as ice. Made me think it wasn’t an electrical issue like Kia told me. We took the blower out in a matter of seconds and ordered a new one from O’Riley’s. Came home and hooked the new one up. Tried the fan before mounting it. Worked like a charm! Badda Boom, Badda Bing! Thanks so much! My daughter is truly happy she has AC, especially living in Florida.

My 2008 kia spectra has similar problem....checked fuses under driver dash, the a/c one was fine...started car up and the fan worked for 1 day...then wouldn't work the next day so checked the fuse/module box in the engine well. Took the gray module and switched it out with the same from my highbeam light...and the fan still does not work. Can hear the a/c clicking on and the tug on the engine rpm...so it's not the compressor a/c unit...

My daughters 2007 spectra had same issue. We could tap under glovebox and it would work for while. Finally it quit helping. Went into amazon and bought new blower motor for $43. Took us about 35 min to replace it. Two females with no mechanical knowledge at all. Just a Phillips screwdriver and determination. Works better than it ever has!

I have a 2012 Sorrento 2.4 Recently had some major work done to it. We are experiencing now the AC and the heater are not working. When you turn on the control on the dash the light does not come on and there is no heat when switch over to heat. Any suggestions?
