I have an icon of a car that looks like it is sliding on my dashboard screen and when it rains, driving is slippery. I don't know how to turn it off. I have a 2009 Volkswagen cc.

My guess is that you've accidentally disabled the electronic vehicle stability system. Please read about this in your manual. It should be a button somewhere on your dash...probably toward the center below the radio.
Yep that would be the traction control system is no longer on. You probly have a button on your unit ahead of your shifter or above your stero that looks simalure. push it to reingage the system. The reason you slide in the rain is because your tires no longer know they are sliping from to much power to the gas peddle so they just spin rather then the system automaticly reducing the power to your trotal.
Hi, thank you for your comments. I do have a traction button that I can push, but it just doesn't work anymore. Perhaps it's an electrical problem? I'm trying to figure out if I can reset it.
well if you can make it to your vw dealer just pull the switch out and see if they can't replace the switch as it may have gotten faulty from moisture in the car or something that may have been spilled on it. this also could be a fault in your cars computer so when you can have the car scanned by a VW/Audi specialist shop with rosstech software if the repalcement of the switch does not fix the issue. you can use a butter knife to pop the switch out just slide it under the edge and pushup since they are not screwed in. and keep your bill because if switch replacement does not work you can jsut put the old switch back in and return the one you just bought to save money
