Where is the intake air temperature sensor and how do i get to it to change it?

Asked by iecni Mar 16, 2020 at 08:41 AM about the 2005 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2005 Explorer 4.6 SOHC - getting code for intake air temp failure. I thought it
was the one right behind the alternator - but I now think that sensor is the head
or cylinder temp sensor. Can someone tell me or point me to a diagram or
video that shows the location of the intake air temp sensor.  Truck idles poorly
and dies when accelerator  pedal is pressed. Please help.  Thanks
