2005 Ford Explorer

Asked by dano60 Mar 26, 2015 at 09:43 AM about the 2005 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My power windows have stopped working, not just one but all of them. I've had it in the garage and they can't find the problem. They changed the fuse and the relay. They told me the  switches in the driver side door has power going to it. They put in a new set of switches in the driver side door it worked a few times then quit. Any suggestions floating around out there?

Check for power to the switch on the door. If it is present then immediately check for power at the door for the rest of them. If it is not there then obviously there is a loose wire somewhere. If power is present but does not work there may be a problem with the ground.

Thanks I'll let them know but you would think they would have checked that anyway but who knows

Power for all the electric windows comes through the driver's door switch. I would suggest you get a replacement switch from a junk yard and try it out.
