how do you get the headliner plugs out of a 2010 transit connect?

trying to hang some fishing rods from the ceiling and want to take the
headliner out

I would suspect that the header covering is attached in the same manor as the plastic side molding.. There are small plastic pins or anchors located at key areas of the header molding. Find a seam, gently pry away the header molding and you should revival the van sub structure. In the attached image, this is the plastic molding located on the rear drivers side, Note the anchors/pins that are attached to the molded panel. These pins or anchors simply pop/snap into pre-designated holes within the vans substructure.

I know this is old, but just did this myself on the same model: I found that using the back (nail-removing) side of a hammer worked well to pull the plugs out
