Bought 2010 Camry with 100,000 miles on - now it will start but not keep running. What is wrong?

The alternator is probably bad, the battery will start the car but the alternator keeps it running, try starting it and disconnecting the negative partb of the battery, if it stalls out or cuts off its the alternator, auto zone can check it for free

What Engine is in this vehicle? When the engine is running..is the CEL(Check Engine Light) ON?
