engine shutdown while driving

while driving the engine randomly shut off

Scan for codes even if the light ain't on , if you get it running check the alt at the batt. for 14+ volts , it may be the ignition it'll have to be tested when the problem occurs .

Normally these are crank and or cam sensor problems, the problem is getting them to fail while the test equipment is hooked up, you can actually see the pattern go from stable to messed up or even quit all together and when that happens the computer shuts all down cause it thinks the engine has died.
