Gear is stuck in park

It started with the car overheating as we were
checking fuses we tried to leave an get car home it
would not leave the park position had to force the
gear into reverse

You may have messed with the wrong fuse, or one did not get back into the right spot. There is a Shift Lock-Out at the shifter that may not be activating because of no power.

Black button doesn’t always want to release to put I drive or reverse , I have to keep messing with it .. then it will release its on a Ford Edge
