Help with 2010 Chevy Aveo Hatchback

Asked by timd1218 Mar 30, 2015 at 05:54 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Aveo 5 1LT Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello everyone,

I am having issues with my 2010 Chevy Aveo Hatchback.  It is an automatic
transmission.  The issue I am having is the P0171 engine light code.  My mechanic
thought it was the oxygen sensor and replaced that but I am still having an issue.  I did
a fuel pressure test and the psi was 50.  I also noticed as well that when I go up a hill,
my car is sluggish.  Almost as if it is hesitating to gain speed when going up one.  I'm
coming on here because I'm hoping someone will know what is causing this and I can
just have a mechanic do that.  I currently have 65679 miles on it.   Thanks for any help.

P0171 is a lean running engine, bank 1 but your Aveo only has one bank. It's not necessarily the 02 sensor, the sensor has detected a lean condition but can be cause by several things. For an explanation better that I can give see http://www.obd-codes.com/p0171

I had same problem . Go to firestone. I had a crack in AIR INTAKE LINE. now it runs fine. Dont get fuel ejection clean done. It has worse gas milage now since $100 fuel maintenance. Just get lucas cleaner at autozone or anywhere. At 60,000. Also.
