Power steering esc light came on my dashboard

My power steering esc light came on my dashboard and I
don't know what it means. Any chance anyone knows
what it could be?? I turned it off and turn it back on, the
steering wheel was EXTREMELY HARD to turn, but
wouldn't turn when I tried to over and over. So I TURNED IT
BACK OFF N LET IT SIT.
