Bumper repair?

Asked by GuruYPG9V Mar 24, 2018 at 03:13 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I backed up into a trail hitch and it put a big hole in
my bumper. How can I fix this? Would it be cheaper
to order a pre-painted bumper online and install it
myself or just take it to a body shop? It’s a diamond
tri-coat paint. Help!

First, go to a body shop for a repair estimate and compare it to the cost of buying a bumper online. See if it comes already in the color of the car. Having to paint the bumper is going to cost you, unless you are a good painter and have the necessary tools. Yes, you can spray paint it but in my opinion it is never the same.
