My car takes time to speed up juat even 20 takes 5 min

Ok i was on the freeway yesterday and my car was
running and shifting just fine till i sped up to switch
lanes and then it ahifted down or up im not sure
but when steping on the gas peddle it was like it
was just reving up as if it was in nuetral but when i
push lightly the car picks up speed just very slowly
and the rpm dont go high just to like 4 rpm on the
guage

But my check engine light is on for a fuel injector and nothing else but im not sure if its even shifting ?

Also just drove it again right now and low gears shift all crazy like till i hit 40 then they stay in whatever gear its in
