Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2010 Chevy equinox. My abs, service
stabilitrack and traction control lights keeping
coming on and stay on. When the car first starts
and takes off, abs engages, then the light comes
on. They all came on while driving down the
interstate. No adverse weather conditions,
completely sunny and dry. I just replaced my front
brakes and it didn't help. I need help!!

Possibly a bad wheel speed sensor. Have the ABS trouble codes read. This requires an ABS reader, not just an OBD2 reader.
Same happened to me on my 2011. Had to replace the wheel hub. There is a magnet in there that goes bad and the only fix is to replace the whole assembly
I'm having the same problem and they say it's my bearing so it's being changed at this moment. Hope it fixes it
RandiH55, did it fix your problem?
I'm having this same problem on my 2013 equinox. I was told to clean in the throttle body, did that and it helped for a few minutes and it happened again. I replaced the throttle body and it's still doing it. Any help?
Any updates, was it the hub bearing or throttle body?
It turned out to be a bad ABS sensor.

I have never seen the egr valve set off the traction abs light. Most of the time it's either in the wiring, the abs module or one of the wheel speed sensors, but not from the intake and exhaust of the engine.
Was experiencing 3 lights presenting simultaneously for about 2-3 weeks (progressively occurring with more and more frequency, yet still not in any discernible pattern) in my 2012 Equinox with 86k miles: Service Stabilitrak, ABS, and the Traction Control System lights -always simultaneously; FYI, I never had a Check Engine Light present. Code reader revealed a “C0045” code. After researching the 3 lights online (before getting code read), I just decided it could very well be a huge safety concern so I looked at my bank balance, said a prayer, took a deep breath and headed to the automotive repair shop this morning. They replaced the left rear wheel sensor circuit (located inside the wheel bearing) and also replaced the left rear wheel bearing itself. It was explained to me that there was “play” inside the wheel bearing where it instead should have been very snug or tight and this was causing the sensor within to move around, thus presenting the 3 lights on the instrument panel. And this was also why the lights would appear sporadically -due to the random movement of the sensor inside of the wheel bearing when it should have been snug/secured. So the wheel bearing itself also needed to be replaced because it was no longer a tight/snug fit. I was also told this occurred because of normal wear and tear when the vehicle is subjected to bumps in the roadways that it travels on. Ultimately, for the diagnosis and the repair parts & labor, costs totaled over $500, but were thankfully completed in just one day and so far, I’ve seen no lights! Hope this helps! Good luck everyone!

SO IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH A FAULTY EGR VALVE?

I have the same issue you can still drive it just turn off the traction control. Dont do it if its wet out or snow vehicle detects it and put it back in all wheel drive. Replace speed sensor and and hub that will fix the problem. It's the engineering of the car. Speed sensor hookup is connected is built into the hub. It has a magnet in the hub speed sensor is built into chassis where the wheel goes. Leave it to chevy to make it more expensive.
I have 2013 chevy equinox with same problem -traction light and abs light on. Same thing, when I start driving, I can feel abs and then light goes on. I do know that I need new bearings so I hope once when I change that it will be good, because mechanic told me it could be transmission and I really hope it's not, because that's at least 5000$ of my pocket .
