Can you adjust the height on a sunroof so it sits flush with the roof?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The rear of the sunroof doesn't sit flush with the roof.  It is lower causing a gap allowing
water in.  You can see light through it.  When you remove the according panels on the
sides, there are four mounting screws. Can you loosen them and adjust the height so it
sits flush?  I've read on different vehicles that those screws raise and lower the height
just by turning them.

To answer my own question, yes you can, but not enough to fix the problem. I tried what another thread said to do, and even though it is a different make it worked perfect. Open the sunroof to the vent position, release the button, and then push it in again for 5 - 10 seconds. The sunroof all of suddenly moved and recalibrated itself to the correct position. It now sits even with the roof and the leak is fixed. If I had went to the dealership they would probably would of charged me $200 + for a fix that takes less than a minute to do.

Thanks for that. I had the same problem with my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee sunroof leaking. The calibration fixed the problem!!

Zraider... thank you so much for this post! It worked great and I am going to pass this secret along. The dealer was going to charge me $100 an hour labor for possibly two hours. When I told them to forget it I have a remedy they said oh... yea we wondered if that would work. Whatever... not getting rich off of an easy push of a button thanks to you!
