Swapping floor shifter for column shifter.

I was thinking of swapping out my floor shifter for a
column shifter on my 2010 impala lt. What would be
involved? I know I’ll have to replace the column of
course but I was wondering about wording etc.

What I’m thinking( and hoping) what I’ll have to do is swap out the column for a shifter model, remove the floor shifter assembly from the car, and reconnect the shifter wires. I’m thinking the shifting is done electronically instead of manually with a linkage. I may or may not have to swap my ignition out on the new column because of anti theft key.
