Rpm gage

I just bought a 2010 Arcadia and the tack for the
rpm is not working properly. Sometimes it works
sometimes it don't. Do I need to be real concerned
about it?? Could it have anything to do with the
transmission or any computer problems

Don't fret over this. The gauge or the wiring to it is probably failing and will have nothing to do with the operation or safety of the car. If you do not notice any change in the engine speed/sound (racing, stumbling, etc), you can fix or ignore this gauge at your leisure.
