Honda Accord water lwak

Asked by Sanjr Jun 29, 2015 at 10:58 AM about the 2010 Honda Accord EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In my Honda accord 2010 water is
leaking from the side of the glove
box. Its coming from somewhere
above the glovebox, as it drips from
the side on the door speaker and
then collects on the plastic sill under
the door. Water leaks only when it
rains and car is parked.

I checked the following

1 )  checked the moon roof drainage
by putting a bottle of water in tray.
Water drains out.
2) while driving a/c is running fine
and draining water. No water coming
in car.
3) checked the river hoses in and
around the door. Nothing is leaking.
Covered the door and the right side
of the windshield with plastic and
towel during the rain. Water still
dripping in the car.
4) removed the dashboard panel, can
see water dripping and some rust,
but not able to find the source.

Pls help. I can send the pics if it's
helpfull.

It leaks when it rains? My guess would be a badly sealed windshield- has it been replaced? Then check the usual suspects- door seals, vent openings- that vent up on your hood where fresh air comes into the cabin from the outside- to find exactly what it is, you would want to have someone run a hose over these suspects while you watch inside- you may have to dismantle the dash to see it- I would suggest having a good mechanic do the detective work-

I tried with those. Watered the car for 30 minutes. No water leaked inside. Windshield is original - not change. Thanks for the response
