Can i program a replacement key fob without the original?

You can’t but a smart locksmith or dealership can. I have noticed that some Ace Hardware stores have the little box also, but I’m sure they are very limited in what they can setup.

just go to the dealer on that because they can program it to the transmitter. I just had this same deal going on with my fob where I had no choice but just use the dealer tool I don't have one myself. That's the price we pay for such technology. Even if I did use a locksmith who HAS that tech, I'm still take a chance on something not working right from use of the fob and I'm in no mood to babysit the issue when I can just spend more money to do the job right the first time. The dealer did make me wait 3 days though when they found out I bought someone else' product fob. SO, I had to play their game ( which I thought was quite inconsiderate and piss poor attitude about not getting ALL of the customers business)
