check the output of the alternator...should be regulated DC volts to 13.5 - 17 output~
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
yeah, I know you meant to say "main" fuse...or MEGA fuse too~
CharlesTom answered 10 years ago
Probably should have dealer look at it. Everything works after I replaced the main fuse and 25 amp audio fuse.

Wouldn't I have smelled burning or something like that?
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
okay, I found it...it's in the fusebox....the GM's a Toyotas have them on a self- destructing pigtail~
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
yes...should STOP current flow...yes would catch fire....a bit..when mine blew, smoke was all of the way to the firewall...thought I had serious repairs to do, but like a TOYOTA it cannot die~ YES....the car was on FIRE for a bit (electrical fire)~
CharlesTom answered 10 years ago
Yes that was where the main fuse was. Not sure the 2010 Subarus have the fusible link. Book didn't mention it
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
the fusebox probably has a lid, preventing fires and capturing the smoke~
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
"Normally when you cross the cables it will take out the fuse"

https://www.google.com/#q=fusible+link+2010+outback really really confused at the quality of information that I'm gettin' that shows a f/l similar to the outback diagram above....proof is, you've changed the fuse, the ECU seems to be okay....you're okay now...okay~?
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
and the alternator has not gone berserk and puttin' A/C current out there now~
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
it's gettin' cold in California now...gonna freeze and stay that way...hope the pipes do not freeze up in Clearlake...water tastes de-methylmercurized and yucky anyways~
CharlesTom answered 10 years ago
Thanks needs service soon and I will have it checked
migration_judge_roy answered 10 years ago
if all is sixes and sevens now, will call it a day...I hope this hasn't been totally useless...and I found out a few things myself...the JOY of bringin' the info to you that I can find....Good luck, CharlesTom~

keepin' my fingers crossed on the health of the ECU~ they seem to make critical decisions even when being fed "brown power"...they have filtration mastered....one might surmise~
