I've had the car 2 months and of course the warranty just went out, I figure ill start with the thermostat which I'm told the car has 2 and they aren't cheap. It was just an all the sudden thing. Also the AC nor heater works on lowest or highest setting.

I had the same problem with my Buick. I would recommend adding some blue devil head gasket sealant it worked for me. It's not that expensive works great and lasts about 8 months before you need to add more.

I've had the same issue with my 2.4L dodge stratus. After I replace hoses and water pump it stoped overheating. I would not recommend using blue devil or any other quick fix coolent additive. It would lead to more costly repairs down the road due to it coating the interior of your coolant system

If it has dex cool in it, you will probably need to get the system flushed at least once and put in green anti freeze
