Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2010 Avalon with 145k miles, needs a front lower ball joint.  Both control
arms I'm told  should be replaced soon. Bushings are torn The dealer wants
$1500 for entire job. They said special equipment is needed. They said the
engine must be moved and transaxle. Is this true, and is price reasonable?

No it is not a reasonable price. Stay away from the dealership after the warranty runs out. Any good independent shop should be able to do the job and then realign it.

You can buy complete ready to install control arms and a you tube video and some decent tools save yourself a crap ton of cash. Amazon has El cheapos they work and are complete.
