Rav4 check engine, 4wd and traction lights come on after every rain

Asked by Kristen May 07, 2018 at 08:15 AM about the 2010 Toyota RAV4 Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had this used rav4 for 3 months. Everytime it
rains, these lights pop on.  They seem to shut off
once its had time to dry out. My concern is,
something may be wrong at sone point and I won't
know the difference. How can I solve this issue?

It is possible that wires or other components of the electrical system are corroded and humidity gets to them. I would say that this is not normal and you should take the vehicle have it check. You can take it to any auto parts store, while these icons are on, to have the codes pulled and read.

2012 rav4 limited. after it rains hard the check engine light, trac off light, & 4wd light all come on. code shows P0607, ECM problem. lights go away after 1 or 2 days of dry weather. to me it sounds like moisture is getting into a sensor.

i took my 2012 RAV4 for an oil change today and after the oil change all three lights popped on and idling was a problem. I am going to take it back tomorrow
