Jeep liberty horn won't work
Asked by Maggie Aug 12, 2019 at 07:28 PM about the 2010 Jeep Liberty Limited 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2010 Jeep liberty's horn isn't working. It looks like
the fuses are good, but when we take them out and
put them back in and try the horn it works for a quick
second. We also replaced the relay. We bought the
Jeep last month from a used car lot, they didn't
inform us it was out of state. He finally did and we
have a week before the temp tag goes bad.

Real helpful answer. I mean since my post is under maintenance and repair why not just reply with "okay" I assume you don't have any advice on the post so don't bother replying with okay.
What should we look at next, Since the relay was replaced and fuses were checked and looked good? Would the horn working for a second after putting the fuses back in give a hint as to what to check next?

It is possible that there could be a loose connection underneath the horn area. Make an inspection to ensure tight connections. Alternatively, and less likely, the horn brass contact ring to the steering wheel or base could be worn through. But, first, I would swap a same amperage fuse with another to ensure you don't have a faulty fuse.
