Engine swap for Nissan Altima 2.5 MT. Coupe

Asked by Jiujitsustar Jul 24, 2020 at 12:56 PM about the 2010 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5 S

Question type: Car Customization

Hey guys I have a 2010 2.5 Nissan Altima
Manual Transmission Coupe. Over the last 6
months I have slowly replaced basically
everything but the engine and tranny. I now
have the opportunity to engine swap and was
wondering if it would even be possible to
throw in the engine from the 3.5 Nissan or
even better yet, throw in an engine from a
GTR Skyline that I’ve been finding cheap on
EBay. This would be a first time for me and
would love to know what to look out for

Frequent some Nissan forums. Replacing an engine with a like kind is difficult enough if you have never done it before. But installing another one not meant for the vehicle, requires all custom work, planning and research. More parts than the engine, like transmission, wiring harness's ECM, etc. The bottom line is how much money do you have? Replacing an engine of the same kind and size meant for your vehicle is a few thousand, replacing with a different one, figure $5k to $10K. I personally wouldn't put that much money into a 10 year old Altima.
