Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving home yesterday, windows down music blasting. When i heard
this loud knocking sound, i knew if i could hear it with all of that, something
was wrong. I was only 2 miles from home so i tried to make it. When i made
the turn on to my road it got so bad i pulled over, in that second my car lost
all power. Opened the hood and saw smoke. I checked the oil because i
have an oil leak and assumed my engine seized, but to my surprise i had
plenty. The oil was really hot though and i could barley even check without
burning myself. Tried to start the car and the entire engine was bouncing
around, shaking the car like someone was jumping on it for a second. But
then it stopped trying to run and just ran on battery. Got it towed but
dealership cant check it for 2 weeks. Is it possible my engine seized?

When you ignore problems they don't go away, they get worse. Your engine is now a boat anchor.

not a rock, just looking for answers. I've been nothing but kind to this car. Put 6k into it, had the oil changed every time it was scheduled. I just very frustrated right now. Every problem I have ever had i did tons of research into beforehand. Being told i ignored a problem when i didn't even think it was one is also frustrating.

Also its pretty funny that it did die on me 2 miles before making it home i think at least

Driving 2 miles on that engine nuked it. This is why you pull over and stop immediately. Guess you just learned an expen$ive lesson.

Thats for sure, I think i was screwed either way since there was no pull over spot and pulled over as soon as I could. I guess i learned no more subarus this car has just been a money pit
