My Tahoe will go in drive but not reverse.  
It is revving and making a noise.

well one way or the other you have to get uner it and look around for anything that jumps out at you...next,drop the pan..there will be some or alot more stupp on the bottom of the inside of the pan..some is ok...but little pieces of metal.\, clutch are not good....so take it to a transmission shop and see if they will check it and or if servicing will help.

It's your transmisions that would happens the same way with me it's the transmisson the reverse messed up
