2010 Suburban Overheats

Asked by njslimo1Limo Jun 18, 2016 at 08:08 AM about the 2010 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car was making noise coming from under hood (
Not Overheating) went to mechanic & told me it was
the water pump, had it replace & when finish & start
it overheat right on the spot they replace thermostat
& still have the problem.
Please Advise

"2010 Suburban Overheats" Subaru's and head gasket, Failures go together like Cheese and crackers! Check the coolant for combustion by products HC, CO, etc. Have the mechanic explain whats going on? Regards

Uhhh, Auto_Centric, it is a Chevrolet Suburban not a Subaru. I would either check the coolant for combustion byproducts or run a compression test on it. It may have a cracked cylinder head or a bad head gasket. Of course it could be something else so some more diagnostics are required.
