Instrument Panel Cluster Gauges not registering

Asked by JErickson Oct 22, 2013 at 06:20 PM about the 2010 Chrysler Sebring Touring Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Chrysler 2010 Sebring Convertible. The instrument panel gauages aren't working. The temperature, fuel, speed, RPM. What could be the problem. And where exactly is the fuse located to check that?

yes...well seen this condition before...what we have here is a failure of the ground from the battery to get to the chassis, where the instrument panel is~ you might check the electrical connections to the dash panel..you might just clean the main ground bolt to the chassis with a wirebrush and get a NEW battery~

i soldered up high watt resister as suggest but instrument cluster still not working only + .9 VDC at power resister. traced voltage to Q58 C collector. after checking circuit found D38 diode had failed, diode was acting like a resistor instead of a diode. After removing the diode power resistors now have +12 VDC now. I soldered in a replacement diode at D38. Put the instrument cluster back in the Tach gauge & blue gear selector display and other gauges appear to be all working now!
