When I turn the key in the ignition, the horn sounds - why?

Asked by darseese Jul 30, 2014 at 07:29 PM about the 2010 Chrysler Sebring Touring Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just started doing this a couple days ago.  At first it was just a toot. Now it's honking in
earnest.  Is this a signal that something needs to be replaced?  Is it a problem with the
horn or ignition?  Could it be that the key fob needs a new battery?  (like smoke alarms
that beep till you change the battery?)

I had the same thing happen to me and my 99 F250 the windshield had a little leak when I washed nit and it shorted the contacts of the computer' I dried it out with a hair drier and put a shield of duck tape over it and no more problem

Buscoupe - Thanks - I left my top down one day last week and it got rained on, so I'm betting that's what happened! Makes sense...
