Possibly fuel system?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stopped to purchase fuel.  Pump clicked off automatically when full, took 25 gallons to
fill.  Vehicle would crank but not start.  Second attempt no start and no fire at all.  Third
attempt vehicle started, but idled roughly then killed.  Fourth attempt cranked engine
while holding gas pedal to the floor.  Vehicle started after five seconds of cranking and
ran perfectly all the way home on city street with stop signs and red lights.  Vehicle
purchased new and has 28K miles.  Any ideas?  Could not replicate the problem once
home.  Vehicle started right up when turned off.

Check for codes. See if any thing was stored on PCM... Change fuel filter.

Could not replicate this morning as the vehicle started right up and ran well. Did find an article which indicated as you said. The filling procedure caused gasoline to bill up the purge line into the manifold causing a flooding condition. Mechanic stated NEVER force fill the remaining quarter gallon into the tank after auto shutoff on the pump engages. This normally causes the problem until cleared.
