Hi, I have a 2010 X5 diesel and the driver mirror stopped working.

Asked by Robert Jun 22, 2013 at 04:00 PM about the 2010 BMW X5 xDrive35d AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The passenger side mirror works, adjusts and can tilt in, by the switch on the driver door.  The drivers mirror does nothing.   Im guessing a wire clip came off??  Anyone have any ideas and any advice on how to get the switch out of the door panel?   Thanks.

The best way to remove the switch block is to remove the door panel. The mirror actually uses whats called a LIN bus or communication line to the switch block. So it could be the switch block or the mirror motor itself.

Thank you for your response, I will try that. Hopefully door panel comes off like the older X5's and 3 series.
