I have a factory 7 pin trailer hitch installed on my 2010 Silverado that I spliced a 4 pin connector into, after a year the left turn signal now does not blink on any trailers. Cause?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had spliced a 4 pin receptacle into the harness for a rear LED light bar.  It worked fine for a year or two and now the left turn signal does not blink on the 4 pin or 7 pin connector.  The running light still work, just doesn't flash.  I metered the 7 pin connector and  I am not seeing the pulse of current I see on the right side.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Most newer vehicles have separate fuses for the trailer wiring. Check all your fuses. Even the left and right turn signals have a separate fuse for each side.

Thanks tuff4x4. I checked the fuse block and that fuse was burned out. I'll replace it and check it out.
