2010 Toyota Tacoma a/c button malfunction & no cool air.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

As I turn "ON"  the heating and air system on/off & speed Dial to "ON"  
position on any of the following setting "Low/ #/ #/ Hi, the air conditioner
on/off button light also comes on, yet  no cool air is coming, while the
temperature dials is set on  the "MAX A/C". I keep pushing down on the a/c
on/off button but it won't go off. When I turn  the temperature dial to
heat,the air conditioner on/off button light go's off and  the hot hair comes
out okay. Can some one please help me to diagnose the problem ?Thanks

Check the AC unit under the hood is it working? or trying to? is its fan belt on properly ? has the refrigerant ( like Freon) been checked ? is it too low ? (a likely cause of your problem) if too low recharge the Freon after looking for any hose leaks. Check a notional chain auto parts store or on line for kits to recharge or go to an auto air conditioner shop or the dealer.
