Clunking noise

I purchased my car 2 months ago. It had a full
check done at Halfords and all necessary work
done. I drive the car to work and back each day (5
miles in total) and the odd other journey. I hadn't
driven the car for a week and noticed a clunking
noise. It comes from the front driver's side, and it is
when going over bumps or drains, and only at over
about 15 miles per hour; any slower and there is no
noise. Otherwise when driving no sound can be
heard. On checking underneath the vehicle, nothing
appears to be hanging off. Is there any ideas on
what this may be? Otherwise the car runs perfectly
with no issues.

Might be an end link worn or lower ball joint issue. To check you would raise lower control arm to unload the weight and use a pry bar to see if there is any movement. You would be able to wiggle the end link to see if there is any play in that too. Good luck!

My 2014 started a clunk only when the temp fell below 30. The shock rod was sticking in the housing, I sprayed lithium grease on the shock rod when the wheel was off, problem gone.

Front subframe mounts onto the chassis above the control arms, the mounting point here moves side to side causing a loud knock. Tighten the mounting bolt every service should take away the problem.
