clunking noise and grinding

clunking noise after it warms up , sounds like its in the front . it does it when i
start to take off and when i slow down , like a rotational clunk and grind .
checked wheel bearings no play , all fluids are full , runs fine after i get going
over 40 mph . my front drive shaft has some rotational play but not up and
down play back drive shaft has no play at all . it s 99 ford expedtion awd 4x4
with 5.4 engine. any help is very appreciated . thank you

just because there is no major play, I think that you drive shaft or front wheel bearing are defective, It's going to have to be taken apart and looked over, Good luck...

how else can i check thye drive shaft or wheel bearing?
