I have a 07 Ford expedition el with 169,000 miles while traveling down the road it makes a grinding noise although, not all the time and only in 2WD. If i put it in 4WD it has not done that any HELP

Like stated above while driving down the road in 2WD it makes a grinding noise but not all
the time just occasionally, this is while driving on a straight road I dont hear it while I am
turning. And if I put it in 4WD it does not happen as of yet

Both of my 2003 expeditions did the same thing. Mine was a vacuum t that went to the actuator on the hub. My wife's was the actuators on the hubs that went bad from the winter salt. Have your local mechanic check the lines then the hub actuators or very rarely it's the actuator on the firewall.
