2005 Ford Freestar seat belt alarm rings while driving even though belts are buckled...how can this be fixed?

Thanks for your response Jim! My dad replaced the driver side buckle with a new one last night and it still does it. I thought about trying to clean the other buckles but it does it when I am driving alone as well.
I suggest you clean the complete buckle. Use WD40 or an electronic cleaner (leaves no residue) and maybe there is more dirt within the buckle.

The seat belt buckle is not the problem. My '04 Freestar does this same thing. I have made wiring changes, different configurations, completing the cirquit, grounding it, running with wires not attached, etc. to no avail. There has to be another way to defeat this.. Maybe a fuse to pull? Is the chime coming from an independant speaker or is it chiming through the radio speakers?
If you pull the pcm fuse under the steering column next to the brake pedal its fuse number 17 this will stop the random chime due to airbag
