sure you can. Who told you that you couldn't? simply measure the opening needed 3" x 8 1/4" and the size of the unit to see if it will physically fit...could use a coarse file to nibble the opening larger...it happens~

if the unit is a double-stacker there may be room, examine the dash for "pull-out" expansion panels to accommodate a double unit~
This year of camry uses a model specific head unit, the base and JBL nav are both the same dimensions.
