MY 2011 ford just started stalling.

Asked by Cabwilliams Dec 20, 2015 at 09:01 AM about the 2011 Ford Edge SEL AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The service lights states the AWD is out and a wrench shows up. The cars stops running. One I get the car pulled over it would start.  This has happens 3 times in one day. I can not find a recall on this, only a lot of information on the same thing happening to other cars.  I am taking it to the ford dealer ASAP.  Hoping not to get stuck with a large bill.  :(

If your vehicle has codes p2012, or p2111 it may be under recall for the throttle body up to 150k miles. It isn't a published recall as it's an as needed concern. The normal symptoms of the throttle body are, looses power and will not respond to throttle input, mil or wrench lamp, will start functioning as you expect after shut off and restart then act up again within a few miles. It will also make you fear being run over from behind when on the freeway.
