When it does not start, is it like the battery is low? Just some clicking?

It could be a bad battery cables, may want to try cleaning the ground wire on the other end away from the battery where it is attached.

NEWWAY11, possible bad starter and or battery cables, and or connections. Heat causes resistance so that is why it turns over when cool. Look at the ends of each battery cable for corrosion or defect. This also sounds like typical bad starter not wanting to work when hot, but works when cool.

Take it to a dealer to have the computer, keys, key fob everything reset. With these cars if you change the battery without a memory saver, it erases everything off the computer (keys and key fob ) so using the original key or any key to start car won't work cause the vehicle won't recognize the key and will go into an automatic anti theft mode.

I have what might sound unrelated, a recall on the fuel flow control module. However, the description on the recall was very similar to this issue. Corrosion in the module causes starting and shutting down issues. I am having the same issue with my 2010 and will be having it looked at for this.

2009 same problem except it has to shutdown about 2 hours, battery shows just under 12. Second time I had this problem first time new starter fixed it, but only for about 5 months. Now I have the problem again..very confused and will never buy another chevy vehicle.

2011 Traverse - Periodically when starting, turn the key and nothing. The dealership has replaced the key, run codes. They cannot figure it out. The battery is newer. The non- starting issue will happen once every 3-4 weeks. In the past we have had it towed only to have the vehicle started fine when at the dealership. The last time the dealership offered to keep for a couple of weeks and to drive periodically (racking up billing hours). They did not seem sure this would provide a solution.

Hi. Same issue here 3rd starter . 2 batteries . One alternator. Works when cool . Once heated, it won’t turn on. 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. Any suggestions?? I’m just so frustrated! Took it to the Chevrolet dealership and they said it was the alternator. I was like ok, my husband can fix that and he did. 3 weeks later, same issue. We change the starter. Same issue. WTH !!!!!

Some one at work told me to put the car in neutral and see if it starts. If it does its a bad neutral safety switch.

Having the exact same issue with restarting after I’ve driven it. Cold starts are fine. Just replaced battery. I put so much money into this car already!
