Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Chevy traverse with 126,000 and is giving me starting issues,
every now and then the car struggles to start like sputters, sometimes stalls
shortly after starting, also when the engine is hot an started it makes a pop or
loud single tick noise. The battery, starter, and alternator are all still good i had
a tune done so spark plugs should be good and no codes for fuel pump also
while the car is idling it'll often sometimes makes a rattling. Unless my
mechanic did a crappy job and just cleaned the spark plugs and didn't replace
them.

The rattling should be investigated. It may be a loose timing chain. As far as the starting issue you should clean the throttle body and intake sensors and use a good fuel system cleaner like Techron in the gas tank.

Sometimes it shifts kind of hard like a jerk forward when going from 2nd to 3rd gear could the Mass air flow sensor cause that?
