Key stuck in ignition of Jeep Grand Cherokee

That and make sure it's in Park. I have done that, forget to put my car in Park and key wouldn't come out

A drop or two of oil applied to the key hole and turning the steering wheel might do it.

Turn the key to on. Pull shifter to drive. Slide shifter to park. Turn key to off and try getting the key out.

I just had this happen this morning. Kept turning the damn key, turned truck on and off few times. Finally it came out. When i got home few hours later it did it again. This time i couldnt get it out in 30 seconds like before.....soooo (with truck off) put shifter in neuteral then back to park and key came right out. Hope that helps someone.

just had key stuck in 08 Jeep grand cherokee... this happened before, and the steering wheel was not aligned straight.. so I turned truck back on staightened wheel and that worked,, then it happened a couple months later... this time I had to go forward and backward to get wheel steering wheel straight and the key came out. Not sure if this is a permanent solution - but something that has released the key.

This totally worked. Put it in drive, go to a flat surface (My Jeep was parked on a hill for 4 months) and slam it into park.

Hello, I have a 2015 Jeep Liberty Sport and I thought it for ethics because I put the key in backwards duh/! I’m a women and a widow and don’t know much about cars-! I tire at to Put it in park, the neutral nothing, then I turned the car off and turned the wheel From Left to right in neutral, room about 15 good times by the key came Out fast and I started my car took about all of 7 minutes hope this helps Lynda

I have a 08 keep cherokeee and my key gets stuck constantly. I’ve every method in here and still doesn’t work. Sometimes it takes two second to come, or some times it takes 20 minutes.
