What is the recommended miles to change the  belt on
a 2011 bmw 328i

Your maintenance schedule will say what the interval is. Usually it is around 100,000 miles for a typical car. However I believe your car has a chain which does not need to be replaced unless it is rattling.

IDK. Not a mechanic. I do own a 2009 BMW E93 N51. Your question may be penny wise and pound foolish. Leave the belt on too long, and your engine will eat it. Your engine will be trashed. The repair bill will be perhaps $3,000 to $5,000. As a non-expert, I advise changing your belts before 70,000 miles. This is too early, but you do not want a belt to break while the engine is running. A broken drive belt like yours is a known BMW issue. Your break is not atypical.
