SRX not starting

Asked by sarcoxn Nov 03, 2015 at 08:08 AM about the 2006 Cadillac SRX V6 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a 2006 SRX that has given me
minor problems in the past in which I could
DIY. Today my wife told me it was making a
noise and pulled over. Then after a quick
look under the hood it would not start ( it
would click and it dropped power). Her
friend tried to jump it and nothing. I left
work, checked the oil, belts and battery
(12.13) and tried jumping it for over 20
minutes . I had it towed home and put my
battery in and it would just click over and
over and not turn over. It has over 100k on
it and replaced the plugs in June. I tried
bypassing the starter relay but nothing.
Anyone have this problem or any thoughts?
I would rather start small before the
dealership charges me more than the cars
is worth. Thanks!!!!!

Did you consider calling the AAA, they have a terrific battery service and will check out your charging system for you right on the spot no matter where you are. Sounds like an alternator problem to me.
