A used BMW engine for $105. Hmmm.
Even though it's a used engine, $105 sounds too cheap to be believed, which would concern me about its quality....be careful. Also, you're doing this yourself.?
KenF- we must have been composing this message and thinking the same thing ...you can't even get your car detailed for less than $100 these days.... something is wrong..or maybe this engine is thrashed and someone wants to just dump it.
Kat1980- if I were you , I'd get an American car especially in Michigan....I know, I had a Volvo in Michigan for a while and shops there would always give me the "evil eye" whenever I brought the car in for service..... NOT GOOD.... Reverse discrimination....now Volvo is owned by Ford.... what in the hell , they're too ignorant to know... You will find it much easier with a domestic car there, anyone can work on it......
Markw, how true, and 105 is barely more than scrap value. I can see it if the seller was just trying to unload an engine they have no need for, but I would never just drop it in to a car, it would have to be torn down and gone through first. Replacing a blown motor with a boat anchor isn't going to improve this guys life.
