Need to locate a ticking noise

I have a 2006 Cadillac sts.  V6 base model. 87000
miles. Just purchased 1 month ago. Starting
making a slight tick sound while idling and makes
a loud tick when it hits 15mph to 20mph, what
would cause that sound and what fo i need to
replace.

Could also be a floated hydraulic lifter, if so equipped, or a valve needs adjustment. Does the tick increase with engine speed (RPM's) or car speed (MPH)? Both of these should increase with RPM's not car speed.

If it's one of the Cadillacs made in this century, it might be the clock ticking down to the end of the car's life. Get rid of it now.
